David Beckham and nine year old son Brooklyn sat court-side for game three of the Lakers versus Celtics series. Unfortch, the Lakers beat my beloved Celtics 87-81, but we won the previous two games, so I’m still holding out hope we can end up on top of the NBA Finals.

David Beckham revealed a new tattoo along his left rib cage on Sunday during a charity soccer match in Dallas with the LA Galaxy. His rep explained the meaning of the new Chinese-language design:

“The tattoo is written in traditional Mandarin Chinese and is an old Chinese proverb that says: ‘Death and life have determined appointments, Riches and honors depends upon heaven.’ David got the tattoo while the L.A. Galaxy were in Hong Kong for their pre-season tour of Asia.”

In his upcoming book, David Beckham: Both Feet On the Ground, David said most of the tattoos covering his body are a dedication to wife Victoria and their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz: “Mine are all about the people in my life, my wife and sons, who I want to have with me always. When you see me, you see the tattoos. You see an expression of how I feel about Victoria and the boys. They’re part of me.”
