Britney Spears left the Promises rehab clinic yesterday, but she managed to not smoke crack or get cheesy tattoos while she was gone. I guess this would be considered an improvement for her.

Spears, 25, left Promises Treatment Center in Malibu at around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night in the company of a driver and two bodyguards.

Sources tell Us she then headed to an apartment on Inglewood Blvd. in Culver City, California, where the pop star met up with her cousin Alli, with whom she’s been in close contact since entering rehab.

The pair spent 20 minutes inside the residence and returned to the car with a bag from the posh L.A. clothing boutique Intuition that appeared to be full of clothes.

According to witnesses, Spears was in good spirits upon leaving the apartment, even holding up and waving the Intuition bag to show her excitement.

Britney arrived back at Promises by 9 pm, and no paparazzi were injured in the process. Good for her.

According to the director of Vietnam’s international adoption agency, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are on track to adopt a child from the country. The couple visited the Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City last Thanksgiving, and reportedly found a little boy around the age of three to four years old to adopt.

“Yes, they have started the procedure to adopt a child in Vietnam,” Vu Duc Long, director of Vietnam’s International Adoption Agency, confirms to Us Weekly .

However, the Mr. & Mrs. Smith costars have a way to go before the adoption process is complete.

“They have to follow all the procedures like any other American,” Long told Us. “They will have to work with the American side. No priority will be given to them, that means they will be treated equally as any other people.”

Long did not name the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie, who applied to adopt as a single parent.

Pitt’s rep refused to confirm the report.

The mother of a young Lindsay Lohan fan accused the actress of falling off the wagon, and in the process, almost running over them. Ellen Morrissey claimed she and her daughter saw Lohan at a Hollywood party, and when the daughter approached her for an autograph, Lohan’s drunk ass brushed her off.

Ellen Morrissey has gone public with her nightmare Lohan encounter, claiming the troubled actress reeked of alcohol as she sped off, almost hitting the mother and her daughter Erin, 13, after the teenager asked to have her photo taken with the star.

Speaking to America’s National Enquirer, Morrissey recalls spotting Lohan outside celebrity hang-out the Hotel Roosevelt at 2:30am on February 18 when the actress was on a break from rehab.

She ran up to Lohan and begged her to pose for a picture with her daughter, a huge fan.

Morrissey says, “Lindsay was holding a glass of clear liquid with a wedge of lemon in it, and she seemed to slur when she spoke. She also appeared to stagger to her car.”

After initially agreeing to pose for the snapshot, Lohan then sped off in her Mercedes, prompting the Morrisseys to jump out of the way.

Lohan’s rep denies the incident took place, and suggested Morrissey should mind her own fucking business. “Ellen Morrissey should be more concerned about her daughter being up at 2:30am than about Lindsay.”
