Pete Doherty proved himself as the world’s least-awesome pet owner this week after a report surfaced that his kitten had eaten some of his cocaine stash. Oh noes, not the precious coke!

According to British newspaper the Daily Star, the newborn kitten - recently born to Doherty’s adult cat Dinger - was rushed to a clinic after falling ill. Tests found it had ingested the drug.

Police are now said to be investigating the matter.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Animals) says, “It is a police matter, so we cannot deny or confirm the identity of the man who had his kitten removed. But it is very important to protect animals from substances that can do them serious harm.”

Congrats to Bridget Moynahan: the 35 year old actress gave birth to her first child today, a boy, in Los Angeles. No word if Bridget’s baby-daddy, ex-boyfriend Tom Brady, was on hand for the delivery.

Cate Blanchett donned a dark, curly wig and glasses for her role as Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic on the singer/songwriter’s life, “I’m Not There.” Cate portrays Dylan during the 60’s, while Richard Gere and Heath Ledger embody Dylan during other stages in his life.

The 38 year old Aussie actress said she was “terrified” to take the role, because of her huge amount of respect for Dylan.

Blanchett told the Guardian: “I have always loved his (Dylan) music, but I’m terrified about this because I am besotted”.

“I watched the press conference he gave in San Francisco in 1965, or whenever it was, and just think, ‘I love you.’

She added: “The worst thing an actor can do is fall in love with someone they’re about to portray, but I’m not playing him, my character is called Jude.

“It’s a riff on who Bob Dylan could possibly be. When I saw the script I thought, ‘This is so out there I can’t run away from this’.”

Lindsay Lohan may be holed up in a Utah rehab clinic, but that doesn’t mean she’s not working on her career. NYDN reported today that Lindsay lured OK! Magazine to the Cirque Lodge for a glossy photoshoot illustrating her new clean-living ways.

In one perfectly posed shot, a demure Lohan, her hair pulled tightly back, is reading “Alcoholics Anonymous,” AA’s 164-page “Big Book,” which mixes personal stories of redemption with a description of how the program works.

“She really is taking it seriously,” OK! Editor-in-Chief Sarah Ivens said. “She’s replacing L.A. and smoking with yoga and reading.”

And, Ivens said, “she hasn’t looked this good in years.”

Lohan spends her days writing in a journal, soaking up “spiritual classes” and working shifts at Smith’s, a nearby supermarket, where her earnings go to a local charity, the magazine said.

If that gets too blue collar for her, a source said Cirque offers “equine therapy, where patients care for horses to help them with issues of trust.”

“She’s been really worried about the influence she’s having on her little sister Ali [13],” Ivens said.

“That’s why this time she’s determined to sort herself out, because she doesn’t want her Ali to grow up and suffer the same things she’s suffered.”

Unfortunately for Lindsay, the same magazine that she’s posing for receiving a tip from a Utah resident who claimed he witnessed the actress buying beer last night.

This morning on Utah’s 97.1 FM, an anonymous caller rang in The Morning Zoo with Frankie & D.B. to report on a Lindsay Lohan sighting. But unlike recent outings to Target for sunglasses or to the gym to work out, this time the beleaguered actress was seen purchasing alcohol!

According to the caller, Lindsay, 21, and a large, older getleman, possibly a bodyguard, entered a Maverik convenience store in Orem, Utah, last night (Aug. 21) and purchased some Miller Lite. When approached by fans for an autograph, Lindsay’s companion replied, “This is not a good time.”

Perhaps if she had been holding a book or some shit, it would have been a good time for a photo op and autograph.

A small snippet of Madonna’s new Pharrell-produced track “The Beat Goes On” leaked onto the internet today. It’s not great, but it’s still half-way decent for a Madonna track.

A Manhattan judge ordered Foxy Brown to Rikers Island jail today for violating parole. The three-months pregnant rapper will reportedly stay in jail until her September 7 hearing. Ouch.

Brown had been on probation on assault charges, but two incidents in recent weeks violated her probation, thus leading Judge Jackson to send Foxy to jail.

A source tells TMZ that Foxy’s face was “priceless” when the judge handed down her decision, and that Brown and her lawyer had not expected to see jail time. Brown was booked at Manhattan Criminal Court and handed over to authorities.

In court, Brown revealed that she is three months pregnant, and that she plans to get married.

A source at the Department of Corrections told TMZ Foxy will be housed at a women’s jail on Rikers Island, most likely segregated from the jail’s general population for her own safety.
