There’s a twist coming in the next cycle of America’s Next Top Model that you probably saw coming. Cycle eleven of the show, which debuts on the CW on September 3, will feature a transgender contestant.

“My cards were dealt differently,” Isis, a 22-year-old former receptionist, tells Us Weekly exclusively in its new issue, on newsstands now.

Hailing from Prince George’s County, Maryland, Isis identifies herself as “a woman born physically male.”

Will she be a role model?

“I like to help people, but I’m here to follow my dreams,” she tells Us.

GLAAD president Neil Giuliano issued a statement applauding the show’s creator, Tyra Banks, and the network for “making this historic visibility of transgender people possible.”

Katie Holmes spent the weekend in LA jeans-free, but now she’s back in NYC, and so are those ridiculous pants. I’m so grateful.

Photographers snapped Scarlett Johansson and fiance Ryan Reynolds making out around LA this week. Scarlett shopped at Hidden Treasures Boutique, while Ryan took a nap outside the store on his vintage Triumph motorcycle (an excellent way not to attract paparazzi, btw.)

Scarlett came out and woke up Ryan by rubbing his tummy, and then they kissed and grossed me out.

Blarh, young unmarried people–get a room.

A parole board denied Mark David Chapman’s parole request this week. Chapman received a life sentenced for gunning down John Lennon outside his apartment building in 1980.

Parole board members issued a brief one-page decision on the denial after meeting with Chapman, saying that despite his clean disciplinary record since 1994, his release “would not be in the best interest of the community.”

“It’s dangerous for him to come out,” Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, told the New York Daily News Monday. “Not only for us, but for himself.”

Ono added that she had personally asked parole officials to deny Chapman’s request.

This was Chapman’s fifth time before the prison board at New York’s Attica Correctional Facility. He will be allowed to reapply in two years, but homeboy shouldn’t hold his breath.

Britney Spears gave OK! Magazine what she dubbed as her “first interview in two years” for this week’s issue. The singer discussed her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and her sister Jamie Lynn’s recent birth to daughter Maddie Briann.

“I was shocked a little bit,” says Brit. “She’s always been the baby, and now the baby was having a baby. It was mind-boggling.”

The pop superstar also tells OK! that she wants her boys to be close to her newborn niece. “I’m sure the boys will be like big brothers to Maddie,” she says.

Despite her own path to fame, Britney said she hopes her own sons will chose a life outside of the entertainment business.

“I’d rather not,” Spears told OK! “But but I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to. I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.”

“I’d love them unconditionally if they wanted to,” she explains. “I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood.

The issue goes on sale at newsstands on Thursday.

During an interview with Complex Magazine, singer Cassie admitted to having her nipples pierced. In a rather odd explanation, Cassie said she got the piercings done to help fight breast cancer. Umkay.

Was it super-painful when you got your nipples pierced?
Cassie: I don’t have any nipple piercings!

Um, yes you do.
Cassie: Can you really see them? [Laughs.] It’s not like I was trying to hide them. I wear T-shirts, so you’re going to see them. I think it’s sexy. I’m proud of them. I wasn’t expecting that [question]! No, it’s not too painful. It stings when it happens. It’s a really strange feeling.

When did you get them?
Cassie: It was kind of for a reason: my mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor. They have gene-testing for that cancer gene, so I got tested. I got my piercings before I got my results, like positive energy. I’m sitting there with my parents, my mom’s sobbing after she finds out that I don’t have the gene, and I’m like, “Guess what, Mom and Dad, I got my nipples pierced!”

[Laughs.] What did they say?
Cassie: They just laughed at me. But it was nerve-racking because I was like, “My mom’s going to kill me if I have this gene and I got these things.”

What do you think about piercings for sexual purposes? Pro? Anti?
Cassie: I’m not against them. Oh my God, I hope my Dad doesn’t read this.

In other news, I’m tattooing my knuckles in order to help fight SARS.
