In the wake of her parent’s vocal disapproval with her hit song, Katy Perry explained what inspired “I Kissed a Girl.” Katy claimed she’s never actually kissed a girl, but instead, the song is about what she imagined it would be like to kiss Scarlett Johansson. Lame.

“‘I Kissed a Girl’ was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson,” she tells the latest issue of Steppin’ Out magazine.

She continued, “I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, ‘I’m not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you’re okay with that?’”

Katy’s parents, both evangelical Christian ministers, told the media they thought their daughter’s song was “shameful and disgusting.”

Katy’s parents say they are deeply ashamed of the star for “promoting a sin.” And her mother, Mary Hudson, declared: “I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting.

“Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.”

Such a fun family.

Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm announced on her website today that she is pregnant with her first child. Mel C and her boyfriend of six years, Thomas Starr, expect their kiddo to be born sometime this winter.

Hi Everyone
Some Happy News!

Well, I can announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy. As I am sure you’ll understand, we needed time to wait for results and tell our families. Thank you for all you kindness, good wishes and support (even if it was based on speculation!). You all know how much I value my privacy, so I’m sure I can rely on you to respect that, particularly at this time.

Am I the only one who totally thought Mel C was a lesbian?

Via her rep, Angie Harmon confirmed this week that she is expecting her third child with husband Jason Sehorn.

“Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn are thrilled to announce that they are expecting their third child,” her rep told Usmagazine.com exclusively on Wednesday. “The couple originally denied reports that they were pregnant in an attempt to take back the right to release the joyous news themselves.”

The couple have two daughters, Finley, 4, and Avery, 3.

OT: Angie is my favorite former assistant DA on Law & Order. I’m not really sure why.

After spending the past few weeks living in LA with boyfriend Balthazar Getty, poor Sienna Miller returned to London to find her home vandalized. A hooligan (that’s what mean people are called in the UK, right?) spray-painted the word “Slut” on the exterior of Sienna’s home in North London.

The actress faced heavy criticism recently for her relationship with Balthazar, who has a wife of eight years and four children. I guess it’s also a possibilty that the vandal saw “Factory Girl” at the dollar movies and felt gypped out of his dollar.

Vincent Cassel graced the cover of the August issue of Vanity Fair Italia, and geez louise, he looked dreamy. I’m not sure how many fans he has around here, but for those of you who don’t know, he’s starred in some of amazing films, including “La Haine,” “Eastern Promises,” and “Irreversible,” which co-starred his real life wife, Monica Bellucci.
