Paris Hilton worked the red carpet in Las Vegas last night for a screening of her shit-tastic new movie “Repo! The Genetic Opera.” Although Paris beamed at the premiere, the movie has been torn apart by critics, including the Los Angeles Times, who called the musical “bloody awful.”

The film is bad — not good-bad, tacky-bad or fun-bad, just plain awful and nearly unwatchable. “Repo” has feet of lead, with none of the frenetic grace or swooping lyricism that make a musical film, well, musical.

The score is mostly a tuneless, fake-industrial throb, without a catchy hum-ability. At times it seems as if “Repo” is some sort of parody of old-world Italian filmmaking, with all the singing post-recorded (and often drenched in reverb), so mouths and the sounds emitting from them are disconcertingly dislocated.

It seems the production has had to cut around the ubiquitous Paris Hilton, as she is never glimpsed in anything but brief, fleeting shots and her hoarse bark of a singing voice is used as little as possible.

Soooooo… does that mean it’s actually worse than “Pledge This?”

In an interview with TV Guide, Christina Applegate said she plans to undergo reconstructive surgery shortly before her 37th birthday later this month. Christina had a double mastectomy last July after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Applegate says fighting breast cancer “sucks,” but you shouldn’t feel sorry for her.

“I still have quite a process until this is done,” the actress says in the new issue of TV Guide. “Yes, it’s hard. It sucks. But I’m not a victim.”

Christina admitted she’s also had a hard time with the death of her ex-boyfriend Lee Grivas, who died of an apparent drug overdose just weeks before Christina underwent surgery to have both breasts removed.

“To be honest, I think that was even more difficult and more painful than anything else,” she says of Grivas’ death. “It still is a lot of the time.”

Despite her recent trauma, Christina returned to set of her ABC sitcom “Samantha Who,” and recently filmed scenes with special guest star Mary-Kate Olsen.

Immediately upon his release from a London prison this week, Blake Fielder Civil checked himself into a rehab clinic. Unfortunately for Blake, he should have checked with the wifey before he made the move.

Friends claimed Amy Winehouse refused to pay the $60,000 for Blake’s rehab stay. The sources said Blake has “a lot of work to do,” if he wants to repair the damage to his relationship with Amy, due to the multiple cheating stories that surfaced while he was incarcerated and allegedly getting his freak on with other birds.

“Blake thought he would click his fingers and she’d stump up the 30 grand. But so far she has refused. He’s not happy.”

Amy was especially pissed when Blake didn’t bother to tell her he was being released from jail this week.

Her dad Mitch, 57, a London cabbie, said: “He never told her. She learnt about it from reporters.”

Blake, who was in jail for assault and trial fixing, sneaked out to tell our reporter: “Tell Amy, ‘I love you and I wish I could be with you.’ I just can’t wait to get this over and done with and see Amy again.”

But Amy’s dad thinks Blake will find it impossible to stay off drugs.

He said: “Blake is a no-hoper. I want Amy to forget about him.

“The best thing that could possibly happen is for them to go their separate ways.”

And Mitch revealed that Amy did not visit Blake after he was moved from Pentonville, North London, to a jail in East Anglia.

“Amy hasn’t seen him for ages, I don’t think she cares one bit.”

Blake is scheduled to remain in rehab for the next seven weeks, and will not be allowed to see visitors–including Amy–until next week.

Although the tabs reported this week that Evan Rachel Wood ended her relationship with Marilyn Manson, the actress was all smiles last night at the AFI Fest screening of “The Wrestler.” In addition to the smile, Evan still had what appeared to be an engagement ring on her finger, so perhaps things are not dunzo with Manson just yet.

Britney Spears join Madonna onstage last night during the Los Angeles stop on her ”Sticky & Sweet” world tour. The old pals warbled out “Human Nature” to the crowd at Dodgers Stadium.

Madonna greeted her with “Hi Britney!” And Spears, with her blonde hair flowing and red lips smiling, moved to the beat as she sang the last chorus on “Human Nature” with Madonna.

“She’s not your bitch” Madonna proclaimed, pointing at Spears who replied with her classic line: “It’s Britney, bitch!”

Madonna had to swing her around three times to get her to loosen up a little bit and, in a far cry from the 2003 smooch, kisses Spears on the hand as her platform sunk below the stage.

Britney’s ex, Justin Timberlake, also appeared onstage with Madonna on Thursday night, but was separate from Britney’s performance. The two reportedly bumped into each other backstage and said a quick “hi,” before moving on.
