After dating over nine months, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden ended their relationship. Although Paris was spotted flirting with ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos in Miami over the weekend, Paris’ friends claimed Benji’s controlling ways were to blame for the split.

“Benji was overprotective and controlling. He doesn’t get along with any of her friends,” the source tells Us. “Friends thought Paris had changed since being with Benji and she wants to be herself again.”

“Nothing went on between Paris and Stav in Miami,” the source tells Us. “She was there for a girls weekend with her BFFs.”

The source added that Benji “really respected” Paris, and “they will be friends forever.” Or at least until the VD tests come back positive.

Photographers salivated on Monday after they spotted Britney Spears arriving for dinner at Sur on Robertson Blvd with a handsome dude. Unfortunately, I don’t think the evening ended with Britney and new dude making babies.

Naturally, the paparazzi went crazy (one was even reportedly arrested for reckless driving) over the guy, who has been identified as Salvatore D’Angelo, the general manager of Kim Vo’s B2V salon in West Hollywood where Brit gets her hair done.

But D’Angelo and Britney are just “good friends” and there is absolutely nothing romantic happening between the two, says stylist and D10 contributor Vo.

He manages a hair salon. So yeah, good luck tapping that.

Despite rumors of split, Megan Fox is still dating C-lister Brian Austin Green. Megan brought Brian along for a little A-list action at Monday’s GQ Men of the Year Awards in Los Angeles.

Shockingly, Brian was not nominated for GQ’s Man of the Year.

Tom Cruise portrayal of a Nazi in WWII solicited “uncomfortable and uncontrollable laughs” from audiences who attended an early screening of ”Valkyrie.” Unfortunately for Tom and the producers of the film, it was supposed to be a thriller, rather than an uncomfortable almost-comedy.

Among the “funny” scenes:

A scene where Cruise’s character, Claus Von Stauffenberg, is forced to give the infamous “Heil Hitler” salute. “It’s an unsettling scene but you almost start to laugh,” the source says. “His character is resisting it but you never forget it’s Tom Cruise saying ‘Heil Hitler.’ It’s funny and shocking at the same time.”

Sources also described a scene where Cruise’s character Claus Von Stauffenberg removes a false eye. “It was disgusting,” said one person who saw the film. “It was like watching someone pluck their contacts out.”

“The film just isn’t a thriller at all” said one “Valkyrie” viewer. “It’s a bunch of white guys in Nazi uniforms. It’s too bad. And Tom doesn’t speak with a German accent — though they did add a voiceover of him speaking German to the beginning of the film. Still, it’s as if he could say ‘I complete you’ at any time. This is not his Oscar moment.”

In case you’re wondering, Tom received three Oscar nominations throughout his career: in 1989 for “Born on the Fourth of July,” in 1996 for “Jerry Maguire,” and in 1999 for his supporting role in “Magnolia.”
