A first responder to Travis Barker and DJ AM’s weekend plane crash spoke to the media about the aftermath of the crash. Lt. Josh Shumpert of the South Congaree Police Department in Columbia, SC said Travis and DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, were “visibly shaken” and “hollering a little bit” when he discovered the pair in the road following the accident.
“The guys were standing on the side of the road, on Highway 302, with a couple of citizens around them,” the officer said. “They were in pain, I reckon. They kept asking where the ambulance was and telling me they had friends on the plane. I told them I couldn’t get to it because the plane was engulfed in flames.
“They said they slid down the right side of the plane to get out,” Shumpert recounted. “They were somewhat on fire at the time, and they rolled around on the ground and jumped on each other to put the fire out.”
The officer also contradicted news reports that the musicians were found naked.
“Travis was wearing a black stocking cap, no shirt, but pants or boxers. You could tell the DJ guy’s hair was singed off and he had cuts on his face,” said Shumpert. “They were both pacing back and forth in circles.”
Family and friends have attempted to lift Travis and DJ AM’s spirits while they recover at the burn center in Augusta, GA. A source said Travis’ ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, has remained at his bedside this week, and “she’s not going to leave him.” Photographers snapped a distraught Shanna on September 22 on her way out of the hospital.

Ta2dMom: That’s a southern term for:
1. “More than likely”
2. “I can’t even imagine”
3. “You know what I mean”
It usually does go along with a you-know-what-I-mean look. I lived in the south for awhile and over there it’s a “whole ‘nother” language. Don’t get so pissy over a word. He saw and heard them so he probably know more than you how much pain they were in.
