If you’re a fan of French films, you’re probably familiar with the name Guillaume Depardieu. The 37 year old son of Gerard Depardieu started acting at the age of three, and stayed in the media spotlight because of his multiple drug and weapons arrests.
In 1996, Guillaume was involved in a serious traffic accident after a suitcase fell out of a vehicle traveling in front of him. Guillaume was unable to avoid the suitcase, and hit it at full-speed will riding a motorcycle. The accident resulted in a serious knee injury, and in 2003, he developed a staph infection in the wounded area, and doctors were forced to amputate his leg.
Unfortunately, Guillaume’s life never quite recovered: he died today at a hospital in Paris due to a severe bout of pneumonia. Sources claimed he became ill while filming “L’Enfance d’lcare” in Romania.
If you haven’t seen any of Guillaume’s films, I suggest checking out “Pola X” and “Process” (co-starring everyone’s favorite EU kook, Beatrice Dalle.) Even if you’re not really into foreign films, both movies are great thrillers.

I didn’t even know Gerard Depardieu had a son, much less one so hot.
I’m for all of his family for their loss. I’m also going to have to check out some French films now. Thanks Alyk.

This is just horrible, he was talented and this is so sad, I feel awful about this. Sympathies to the family, and to his fans.
My God, in this day and age how do you die of pneumonia? Unreal. Kudos to you for being the only blog I’ve read today covering this news.

Such a waste !!! this guy was so talented !!! He never managed to find happiness and has burnt his life from both ends… It’s so sad for his daughter, girlfriend and sister Julie !!!
