During a performance in Brooklyn over the weekend, M.I.A. proudly displayed a huge bump. The Sri Lanken singer spent the last few months out of the spot light after she declaring she was “retiring” from the music business last June.

Now that her retirement is apparently over, M.I.A. is ready to make new music, as well as make a baby with her fiance, Ben Brewer, the son of Warner Music Group Chairman and CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr.

M.I.A proudly told Pitchfork, “I’m creating a baby.”

“When I found out I was pregnant and ‘Paper Planes’ was in the iTunes top 10, it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window,” the artist said. “I’ve got two kids, that’s what it feels like. And that’s the lesson, you can’t make plans.”

She and Brewer did not reveal when the baby is due or the gender, but they made sure their fans knew they are serious about having a child. “I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids,” M.I.A. said.

M.I.A. told Pitchfork she is currently working on a follow up to Kala, but first she plans to “go see my family and show them the belly.”
