In some sort of twisted measure to steal her ex-husband’s thunder, Shanna Moakler announced she was supposed to be on the Learjet that crashed in September. Shanna claimed she got a “bad feeling,” and changed her plans at the last minute. Her ex, Travis Barker, and co-passenger DJ AM, were the only survivors of the crash.

“I was supposed to go with [Travis] to South Carolina, and at the last minute, I had this gnarly feeling and said, ‘I don’t think we should fly together anymore,’ ” she told the magazine in its October 17 issue, which hits stands Friday. “God forbid something ever happened … our kids wouldn’t have both parents. Instead of flying a commercial flight back home, they decided to take a private jet. He e-mailed me pictures of the plane and wrote, ‘It’s really small and scary.’ I had a bad feeling, but didn’t want to sound strange, so I said, ‘Be safe.’ “

Although Shanna told the media she planned to stay by Travis’ side at the hospital, Travis claimed he had not seen his ex-wife since the week he checked into the Los Angeles burn unit.

“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, Ive been treated amazingly well, both here in LA and in Georgia. The hospitals Ive been treated at are THE BEST.”

Shanna responded to Travis’ comments by saying she was “deeply hurt,” and still loved him.

“Trav and I are so crazy. We are off for one week, on the next,” she said. “I haven’t thought about the long term. We’re just trying to get him well and home. … I would never abandon anyone in his condition, and I have made sure he had a support system. My feelings are deeply hurt. I wish him a speedy recovery and am thankful he’s alive.”

Earlier this week, Shanna was photographed getting all up in Gerard Butler’s jock at a Korean BBQ restaurant in Hollywood. Shanna didn’t mention Gerard in the above interview.
