The Prime Minister of the UK had the unfortunate task of explaining to Nelson Mandela who the hell Amy Winehouse was, and why she was effing up his anthem. Gordon Brown admitted he had a conversation with the civil rights leader about Amy, who performed during last summer’s 46664 concert in London’s Hyde Park, and changed the words to “Free Nelson Mandela,” to “Free Blakey My Fella.”
On Monday, Mr Brown told 100 members of campaign group The Peace Alliance what happened next. He said: “As he looked at the concert I had this responsibility of explaining to him, as she came on stage, who Amy Winehouse was.
“And so I was, um, it took a bit of time to tell the full story.
“Then Amy Winehouse was saying to her friends, ‘You know, Nelson Mandela and my husband have a great deal in common: both of them have spent a great deal of time in prison’. And then when people were singing at the end that great song, ‘Free Nelson Mandela,’ she was actually singing, ‘Free Blakey My Fella.’”
Actually, Amy, Blake and Nelson Mandela have nothing in common. Your dirtbag husband spent 27 months in prison for assaulting a dude in a bar, while Mandela spent 27 years in a South African prison as a victim of apartheid.
Not the same.

Ugh. Stupid broad.
I’ve went to South Africa last summer. We drove through Sowetho where I’ve seen Mandela’s house and we’ve visited the apartheid museum. The most impressive thing I’ve ever seen.
