For reasons I don’t totally understand, Nicole Richie recently became possessive of Benji Madden. As you’re probably aware, Benji’s twin brother Joel is Nicole’s baby-daddy.
Earlier this month, Benji ended his relationship with Nicole’s childhood BFF, Paris Hilton, and since then, Nicole hasn’t allowed Benji to talk to other broads.
Sources tell Page Six that since Madden split from Hilton, Nicole “has been really possessive and stops him from talking to other girls.” Richie was spotted at a party for the Maddens’ band, Good Charlotte, and their latest album, “Greatest Remixes.” Our spy said, “Benji was approached by dozens of ladies. Girls were trying to flirt with him . . . but Nicole kept getting in the way.” The source noted that Richie “stopped every girl trying to take a photo of him,” and even “dragged him by the arm” away from a busty blonde.
As for Nicole and Joel, sources claimed the couple plan to marry on January 11, 2009–the same day as daughter Harlow’s first birthday.

I think she’s just worried that he’ll end up with someone she doesn’t like again and she doesn’t want to have to deal with that. Or, maybe she just wants to keep him single, in case things don’t work out with Joel, she’ll still have a baby daddy that looks like her daughter.
