A London jury found Boy George guilty today of falsely imprisoning a male escort. The 46 year old former Culture Club singer was released on bail until his January 16 sentencing.

Judge David Radford warned Boy George that he was likely to face jail time. “The fact that your bail is being continued does not imply that this will be dealt with by a non-custodial sentence,” he said, CNN reports. “I don’t want any false expectations created.”

Norwegian escort Audun Carlsen claimed Boy George handcuffed him to a wall in his London bedroom and beat him with a chain. Carlsen eventually escaped, running out of Boy George’s apartment in his underwear onto the street with red welts covering his head and arms.
