Katy Perry published a new blog yesterday titled “From the horse’s mouth,” in which she denied she was engaged to Travis McCoy. The NYDN reported this week that the Gym Class Heroes singer proposed to Katy during a trip to Paris.

“NOT engaged!” she wrote. “But thanks for the free press, New York Daily News!”

McCoy did give Perry a promise ring over the summer, but the singer claims there haven’t been any upgrades.

“You should fact check with the source before you spread world-wide news like that,” she added.

World-wide news, my ass. I doubt villagers in Bandakoro are dying for the latest news about Katy Perry’s love life.
