John Costelloe, the actor who played Vito’s lover on “The Sopranos,” died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Brooklyn home. Police confirmed they found the former firefighter’s body this week in his apartment after family reported him missing. They believe it was a suicide.

Costelloe appeared on the sixth season of “The Sopranos” as Jim “Johnny Cakes” Witowski, who meets closeted mobster Vito while he was on the run from Tony and the crew.
