Following her Sunday morning beat down by Chris Brown, Rihanna retreated to a “safe place,” according to friends, and is fully cooperating with police investigating the alleged assault. The midnight altercation between the former couple resulted in various injuries to Rihanna’s face.
“Chris knocked her around,” a source close to the couple tells People. “Black eye, blood, bruises. She had to be treated by a doctor.”
A police source confirms to People that the singer suffered a black eye as well as “a swollen split lip and two red and purple contusions on either side of her forehead.”
The source, who described police photos of Rihanna, added, “She looked distraught and in a lot of pain. Her eyes were closed because she was looking down.”
A source from “Chris Brown’s legal camp” told Bossip that Rihanna originally started the argument in Chris’ car that eventually led to her hospitalization.
They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.
And yet another rumor: Star Magazine ran a piece yesterday that alleged Leona Lewis was the “young lady” in Chris’ life.

The whole thing is horrible. I know what it’s like to find out your man is messing around and the first thought that comes to mind is running him over with a tractor, then backing up over him and running him over again.
I would love to say that I am one of those people who can keep my emotions from exploding in situations like this, but I’ve let love get the best of me before, too.
You live and you learn, unfortunately they’ve gotta do it in the public eye.

Oh, right….so, since she went nuts over him screwing around, he’s totally justified in basically beating the shit out of her?
Where are HIS bruises, if he was attacked so viciously? And why did he need to bite her? Punch her in the face? Choke her? Threaten to kill her?

I’m really, really surprised how tolerant a lot of people are when it comes to domestic violence. It’s as though it’s not a serious problem, just something that “happens”. Coming from an abusive relationship I know that this shit does not “just happen”. And his dumb ass knows better, even at a young age.
Rihanna should have left his ass the FIRST time he showed even a hint of violence, but I know from experience it’s easier said than done. I hope she NEVER goes back to him.
