Popular character actor Ron Silver died on Sunday at the age of 62. The former “West Wing” star passed away from esophageal cancer.
“Ron Silver died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him early Sunday morning” in New York City, said Robin Bronk, executive director of the Creative Coalition, which Silver helped found. “He had been fighting esophageal cancer for two years.”
Silver won a Tony in 1988 for his powerful performance in David Mamet’s Broadway production of “Speed-the-Plow.”

Poor Ron Silver, he was so talented. I didn’t even know he had cancer.
