Sinead O’Connor spoke out in defense of fellow baldie Britney Spears, saying she feels sorry for the single mother.

“She had two babies within the space of two years, (there) doesn’t seem like a terrible amount of support from the people around her,” O’Connor said.

O’Connor said it seems the media is constantly watching for Spears to make a mistake raising her children, but that no parents are perfect.

“I think to attack someone as a mother is very dangerous,” she said. “I would say that’s what puts a young girl on a precipice which is very, very dangerous, in my opinion. Some people may end up really regretting the way they’re treating her.”

Sinead went on to describe her own battle with a bi-polar disorder. The 40 year old Irish singer said she attempted suicide on her 33rd birthday, and was later diagnosed as bi-polar. With the help of medications, she no longer thinks of suicide.

“I’m certainly out of despair, which is great.”

Sinead now lives in Dublin with her four children, and still makes music. She released her latest disc, Theology, earlier this year.

The difference here, Sinead is that she keeps firing her support staff. She only wants to hire people who are glorified “yes men” Anyone that tells her she’s doing something bad, or something wrong, she gets rid of them. It’s her own fucking fault.

If anyone’s qualified to talk about crazy moms, it’s Sinead.
