While picking up his “Icon” award at the TV Land Awards on Sunday night, Lionel Richie discussed the drawbacks to being the father to a former heroin addict/Paris Hilton BFF. He was, of course, referring to daughter Nicole Richie.
“Forget about surviving 40 years in the music business,” Lionel Richie told the audience. “Just surviving 27 years of Nicole Richie has been a struggle-and-a-half, I want to tell you. I stand here as a survivor, I want you to know, for all the parents out there.”
I think I could stand 27 years of Nicole Richie, but I’m not sure I can survive the shame associated with being Joel Madden’s father in law.

I could handle Joel if I knew it meant he’d be taking away that squeaky, FUGLY, conceited hobgoblin, Nicole. In fact, I might even throw a dowry his way for the pain. I hate that slapper.
