Jesus Christ, Britney Spears looks like she’s been hitting up the clearance rack at Goodwill.

Anyhoo, Britney flew to Louisiana this week to help sister Jamie Lynn with her new daughter, Maddie Briann, and if Britney’s mother has anything to do with it, she might be there for an extended stay.

Lynne Spears testified for her daughter in LA Superior Court, claiming Britney “intends to return to Louisiana,” possibly on a full-time basis.

“Britney has spent a majority of her time over the last five years in the state of California due in part to work but primarily with respect to a custody dispute currently ongoing,” Lynne explains.

The hearing was to determine if Britney’s father Jamie could sell her Beverly Hills home, acting as her conservator.

The hilltop house, located in a gated community, has been the scene of the recent drama in the singer’s life, including the night in January she was taken from the property in an ambulance and forced into a psychiatric hospital.

It was not immediately clear where she intends to move. But a source close to Spears said, “Having more privacy and wide open spaces for her to raise her boys has been a goal for some time.”

In March, a court granted her father, Jamie Spears, the power to “sell or dispose of” an undisclosed number of her seven cars. Jamie remains in legal control of his daughter’s affairs until a July 31 hearing.

It’s going to be a sad day for photo agencies if Britney leaves Los Angeles for good. I can’t imagine paparazzi would pull up stakes and move to Louisiana permanently just to follow her.

Or maybe they will, you never know.
