Matthew Broderick admitted he and wife Sarah Jessica Parker are passing on their filthy habits to their young son. According to Matthew, James Wilke, 5, became “curious” about smoking after watching his parents puff away on cigarettes.

“[He's] already curious,” Broderick told New York.

“I can just see the little budding gene of a smoker in there,” Broderick said. “He’ll see a cigarette butt and say, ‘What is that? Why do people smoke?’”

As for his own smoking habit, Broderick revealed: “I used to smoke cigarettes, and I still do, lately. I gave that up a long time ago, but every now and then I will fall off for a week.”

Parker is “worse than me on that,” Broderick added.

I guess because I’m not a smoker, I assumed no one really smokes anymore, so this story kind of shocked me. Sarah Jessica smoked on “Sex and the City,” but I thought she was too health-conscious to smoke in real life.
