Tyra Banks wasn’t the only winner last night at the Daytime Emmy Awards: Ellen DeGeneres won the outstanding talk-show host award. Before picking up her statuette, Ellen discussed her upcoming nuptials with girlfriend Portia de Rossi.

Ellen said she and Portia are planning a “dream wedding.”

“Yes, we have set a wedding date,” said DeGeneres. “How do I feel about it? I obviously feel like it’s long overdue. I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous that we don’t all have the same rights.”

DeGeneres said she plans to fly the de Rossi family in from Australia and that “incredible people” would sing at the ceremony. She said she would show “a tiny bit” of the nuptials on her talk show, and joked that she would use her latest Daytime Emmy as a wedding-cake topper.

“Planning a wedding is very stressful,” said DeGeneres. “It’s crazy. My gardener is now invited.”

Don’t bother asking the gardener about the wedding date: Ellen said the date and location will be a tightly-held secret.
