Although new mothers in the US are typically kicked out of the hospital shortly after giving birth, mothers in France are given a bit more time to recover. A rep for the Lenval Hospital in Nice said Angelina Jolie is expected to stay in the maternity ward for quite a bit longer to recover from her C-section.

“After a C-section, the normal stay for a mother in the Lenval hospital is between eight and 10 days,” Nadine Bauer said.

When asked directly if Jolie was due for discharge later today, Bauer said, “No.”

“And I’m not sure what day she will be leaving. Only when Dr. Sussmann is completely satisfied that she is in good health and fully recovered from the C-section.”

Angelina gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline last Saturday, so although she could be released from the hospital later this weekend, it is doubtful due to the still-swarming paparazzi waiting outside the facility.

It’s funny that these celebs could really get the paparazzi to leave them alone by just walking out the front door, giving everyone the chance to take the picture and then they’d all leave.
As much as Sarah Jessica Parker bugs the shit out of me, she and Ferris Bueller had the right idea when they had their baby, they got the press to just leave them alone by showing the baby right away to EVERYONE so nobody was fighting for the picture.
