If the old adage “death comes in threes” stands correct, Samuel L. Jackson should consider laying low for a while. Over the weekend, two of Sam’s co-stars died: Bernie Mac died on Saturday, and Isaac Hayes passed away on Sunday.

Bernie and Sam star in the comedy as two legendary soul singers who reunited to perform at the Apollo Theater. Isaac played himself.

The film is scheduled for release on November 14; no word yet if losing half the cast will affect the premiere.
