British socialite/nitwit Peaches Geldof married her boyfriend of one month in Las Vegas earlier this week, and now she’s reportedly fearful of confronting her father with the news.

19 year old Peaches married Max Drummey of the band Chester French on Tuesday during a 15 minutes ceremony in Vegas. Her father, Sir Bob Geldof, was on vacation in Spain at the time.

A source said: “Sir Bob wants answers about what has been going on. Max is keen to meet him and explain he only has his daughter’s future at heart. But he has a tough job on his hands.

“Peaches is expecting fireworks, although she knows her dad will respect her wishes.”

Peaches told friends she married Max because he was a “nice boy” who could keep her away from drugs. An overdose at her London home last month promoted the DJ/TV presenter to clean up her lifestyle.

Peaches and Max first met two years ago and hooked up again when she hosted the iTunes music festival for ITV2 in London last month.

Romance blossomed days after she split with Faris Badwan, singer with of The Horrors.

A close friend said last night: “Peaches was ashamed of the overdose and worried she’d end up like Amy Winehouse.

“She and Faris had started regularly using drugs and she realised it was becoming a problem. So when she met Max again, who is a nice boy and a Harvard graduate, she thought being alongside him would steer her life on a different path.

“He was the nicest boy she could find quickly enough and was the key to her escaping the drugs that have been bringing her down. Only Peaches would go so far as to think a wedding would be the best way to go about this though.”

The marriage could benefit Max as well: Chester French release their first album next month, and being Bob Geldof’s son-in-law will surely help album sales.
