In the wake of her parent’s vocal disapproval with her hit song, Katy Perry explained what inspired “I Kissed a Girl.” Katy claimed she’s never actually kissed a girl, but instead, the song is about what she imagined it would be like to kiss Scarlett Johansson. Lame.

“‘I Kissed a Girl’ was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson,” she tells the latest issue of Steppin’ Out magazine.

She continued, “I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, ‘I’m not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you’re okay with that?’”

Katy’s parents, both evangelical Christian ministers, told the media they thought their daughter’s song was “shameful and disgusting.”

Katy’s parents say they are deeply ashamed of the star for “promoting a sin.” And her mother, Mary Hudson, declared: “I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting.

“Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.”

Such a fun family.

She’s a twat and so are her parents. I bet they just love her black boyfriend. She’s clearly trying be written out of the will.

I really don’t get the fuss on her in general, or how she bagged that hot guy. I like some of her clothing ensembles but she’s very vanilla and blah.

    UGH, she’s so fake/boring.

I am disappointed in her as well. That she recorded and managed to have produced such a shitastic song about teh gay when she is one of those “I will make out with girls when I’m drunk to get attention” girls.

    Fuck her.

  5. Ta2dMom says:

I almost hate to admit that I get that song stuck in my head and sing it all day. I like it, but that’s not saying much, I have kind of shitty taste in music.

Anonymous got it. Her music is lame/bland girl attentionwhoring. We need REAL new, lesbian talent out there. Lady Sovereign was the last good one we had :(
