Police found a vial of meth while performing a routine probation-related search of Redmond O’Neals’ bedroom at his father Ryan O’Neals’ house. This prompted police to search the rest of the Malibu home and, oops!, they also discovered meth in Ryan’s bedroom. 67 year old Ryan and 24 year old Redmond were immediately arrested.

Ryan and Redmond were released from the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station Wednesday morning. Bail had been set at $10,000.

Ryan, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his starring role in 1970’s Love Story, was also arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm during an argument with another son, Griffin. The actor claimed he only fired a warning shot.

Redmond was arrested last year for possession of heroin and meth while driving under the influence. He was placed on three years probation.
