During a hearing today, a judge presiding over Nicole Richie’s DUI case granted her request to push the trial date back to August 16. Nicole’s attorney argued that their key witness, Dr. Terence McGee, will be unavailable for testimony until that time.
According to TMZ, McGee will challenge the results of Nicole’s drug test from the night she was pulled over by police for driving the wrong way down a freeway. No word yet on how McGee plans to explain why Nicole admitted to arresting officers that she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot earlier in the evening.
Breaking news: Nicole Richie was reportedly offered a plea deal in this case, although the terms have yet to be specified. Her attorneys are expected in court tomorrow to decide whether or not they plan to accept it. Nicole will not be required to attend the court session.
