Although they broke up last year, Hilary Duff still complains about Joel Madden. Shortly after the couple of two years called it quits, Joel hooked up with Nicole Richie; Hilary claimed she felt “disrespected” when Joel moved on so quickly.

“All of the going out he did after we broke up sort of shocked me. Like, that’s just so out of character for him, and when we were together, he hated stuff like that, so I felt like I just really didn’t know him as well as I thought I did.”

“With the amount of time that we had invested in each other, I felt disrespected that he moved on so quickly…But some people don’t want to deal with how they feel, so they cover it up. Rebound! I shouldn’t say that. You know what, though? Now I don’t care.”

Despite the smack talk, Hilary maintained she still cares for Joel. “He’s my first love, so I’ll always care about him. But I definitely feel like a different person now that we broke up. And I DO feel happy!”

Anyhoo, they always seemed like a very mismatched couple to me. Joel and Nicole look like they belong together, don’t you think? They both have that strung-out junkie look, so that makes me think they’re pretty compatible.
