David Beckham formally launched his career with the LA Galaxy soccer team today in front of 11,000 screaming fans. David arrived to the team’s stadium in Carson, CA with wife Victoria (who was wearing a gorgeous pink dress with a matching pink Birkin bag, bitch) in tow to face the fans and 700 members of media waiting to officially welcome to couple to the US.

As Victoria teared up, David spoke to the crowd, slipping up only once when he referred to the game as “football,” rather than soccer–as you probably know, America is one of the few countries that doesn’t call soccer by the name “football.”

“First I would like to say how honored I am, how many people came here to see me.

“In my career, I played for the two biggest clubs in the world, Manchester United and Real Madrid, and I have played for 11 years for my country - and still am playing for my country, and I’ve always looked for challenges in my career and something exciting.

“My family have now moved to Los Angeles. Something we are looking forward to, something we are very proud of… in our life everything is perfect,” Beckham added.

“For me the most important thing is my family. The second most important thing is the foo… The soccer… I will get use to that. I’m sorry,” he laughed.

Fans in the stadium sported David’s new jersey with the number 23 on the back. The jerseys, which sell for about $80, have nearly sold out, with 250,000 scooped up.
