Lindsay Lohan’s attorney released a statement claiming Lindsay “relapsed” less than two weeks after completing a 45 day stint in rehab. Luckily for pedestrians all over California, Lindsay is now “receiving medical care” for her addiction issues.

“Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease,” attorney Blair Berk said in a statement.

Since leaving Promises rehab facility on July 13, Lohan has been wearing an electronic alcohol-monitoring bracelet on her ankle. She had it on even as she hit parties and nightclubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. However, police say the device did not play any role in notifying police that she was allegedly driving under the influence on Tuesday.

“Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies,” says Berk. “Unfortunately, late [Monday] I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care.”

Lindsay’s mother, Orange Oprah, also released a statement regarding the starlet’s arrest for DUI on Tuesday. In typical Lohan fashion, Lindsay’s mother blamed the media, for the shit-storm, rather than blaming Lindsay’s drunk ass.

“We are doing everything in our power in support of Lindsay and I won’t give up… this is my daughter and we love her,” Dina Lohan tells The Insider.

“I am sick over this,” Dina says. “My children, my family, we are like prisoners in our own home because paparazzi [are stalking us] outside [our]home. Lindsay is in a safe place, and we are trying to strategically work out our next step.”

Maybe the next step should be taking some responsibility.
