We said it wouldn’t last, and we were right: according to an attorney for Britney Spears, the singer’s divorce to Kevin Federline’s will most likely be finalized later today. Britney filed for divorce in November 2006 after two years of marriage, claiming irreconcilable differences.

“We believe that hopefully today their divorce will be final,” the singer’s attorney, Laura Wasser, said Monday. “The papers will be bare-bones, and we’re trying to get the rest of the details sealed.”

Wasser said the couple will agree to continue splitting custody 50-50 of their two sons, Sean Preston, born in September 2005, and Jayden James, who was born almost exactly one year after. She would not comment on the couple’s financial settlement. The papers are expected to be signed Monday afternoon by a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner.
