“Becoming Jane” star Anne Hathaway suffered a little meltdown last week that ended with shed tears in the ladies room at Nick & Toni’s restaurant in the Hamptons. NYDN claimed Anne and her controversial boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, had a spat in front of their fellow diners.

“He started telling her off, and she argued back,” says our source. “She rushed to the ladies’ room twice, once for about five minutes and another time for at least 10 minutes. She apparently composed herself and came back to the table. Follieri paid the check, and they left.”

The two have been jackhammered ever since billionaire Ron Burkle sued Follieri for alleged misappropriation of funds in their joint venture to buy and develop property being sold  by the Catholic Church. Burkle claimed the 28-year-old businessman spent $1.3 million on a Manhattan penthouse, private jet flights and stays in five-star hotels.

Everything was chill between the couple by the time they arrived at the Cinema Society’s party for “Becoming Jane;” witnesses said Anne sat contently on Follieri’s lap for the rest of the evening. Anne’s rep claimed she was not upset at her boyfriend on that night, but instead just really psyched to watch the movie.

“If she seemed emotional it was because she had not yet seen the film in its entirety, and she found even the little she watched of the opening very moving.”
