Alicia Silverstone’s nude ad for PETA continued to draw fire this week. The pro-veggie ad debuted in Houston yesterday, but quickly pulled from the airwaves by Comcast Cable. The commercial, which showed Alicia stepping out of a pool naked, was deemed too racy for Houston viewers.
PETA claims that Houston was chosen because it often ranks high on lists of cities with the worst eating habits. So why did Comcast pull the commercial?
A spokesperson for the cable company cited nudity in their decision to cancel the campaign, though the clips had already been paid for.
Curious Houston residents can still view the ads, online at PETA.org, according to PETA president Ingrid Newkirk.
“[Viewers can] get an eyeful, not only of the stunning Ms. Silverstone, but also of our free Vegetarian Starter Kit, chock full of delicious recipes, that will make them drool for an entirely different reason,” she said in a statement.
PETA claimed the ad will still run in another Texas market, Dallas.

Damn PeTA, maybe the real reason why they pulled the ads because PeTA is infamous for exploiting women in their adverts for their own extremist agendas, pay terrorists to commit acts of arson and raids and generally just value the life of an animals over a humans when in fact they’ve been known to slaughter animals themselves.

GOOD. PETA needs to get some variety in their naked campaigns. they’re fucking hipocrites to think they are progressive when they only exhibit naked big tittied blondes. it’s possible to be non-white and love animals, it’s possible to be a man and love animals, and it’s possible to be fat and love animals. it’s also possible to love animals and hate those extremist retards at PETA.

As a 98 lbs. Houstonian omnivore, I protest.
Victoria’s Secret doesn’t make lingerie small enough to fit me (healthy weight), but they make lingerie big enough to fit a 250 lbs. woman (obese). Comcast has no problem airing the Victoria’s Secret runway show here in Houston, where all-but-nude women parade around on my television without any more or less protest.
So let me get this straight… an ad with equal/less nudity trying to promote a vegetarian lifestyle gets yanked?

Why does PETA always exploit women but are “animal” friendly. It doesn’t make sense. Any I personally don’t want to see nudity injected into my eyes. Leave it for the web sites, etc.

Yeah, as a fellow Austinite, I think it would be a waste of their money to air the ad here. There’s already a decent number of veggies in this town, sometimes militantly so, but otherwise, just glaring at you when you have a nice juicy steak. We get the message here… I just choose to use my canine teeth for what they were made for. Hmmm… maybe a Hut’s Hamburger will be on order for tonight… I’m feeling the need for some beef with all this veg talk.

Krisko101….UM, NOOO 98lbs is not a freaking healthy weight unless you are like 4′10″ AND UM NOOO Victoria Doesn’t make a bra to fit some that weighs 250 lbs. Have you even looked at their sizes! They make a 34 DD but not a 40 DD, doesn’t make sense at all.This had nothing to do about weight but you made it that way, so you must have some weight issues. Anyway I say go Comcast!! PETA is retarded. They’ll go “free” animals from a farm that wasn’t hurting them, but those animals will die out in the wild, smart.
