Pete Doherty’s ex-girlfriend Kate Moss once proudly coined the term “rexy” to describe herself and her friend’s “sexy” slash “anorexic” look. Unfortunately for Pete, this term no longer applies to him.
Since leaving the Clouds rehab clinic in London, the former waif-like singer has bloomed into a slightly rounder fella. According to sources at his local pub, Pete stayed off drugs, but hit the Guinness pretty hard, explaining the new belly.

Well! Quitting speedy-type drugs’ll do that to a person, it sucks but then again it’s what you have to deal with when cleaning up. I quit drugs five years ago and went from “rexy” or whatever to putting on a good 40 pounds, and fast, too. It sucked, but once my metabolism finally found & righted itself again naturally the weight came off, that and daily running at the beach. But like him, I didn’t quit drinking, either, I still enjoyed my vino, I just quit the coke. Hope he stays off the stuff, with a little willpower & inner strength it really isn’t so hard to stay clean. Plus you gotta stay away from all your former coke-fiend buddies, not as easy as staying off the drugs mind you.

That bloat is normal for ex-addicts, as Snowblood says it does come off…it’s like his body is saying ‘finally some nutrients!’ and keeps every last calorie as fat. He will adjust - he does look porky but his colour is good, he’s young and he will be fine if he’s strong.
