Amy Winehouse announced plans to appeal the $714 fine she received in Norway for marijuana possession. Amy claimed she didn’t understand the Norwegian-languange charges she signed after a October 18 at her Bergen hotel room.
The singer, 24, didn’t understand that accepting a fine in Norway is the same as pleading guilty, which “could affect her ability to work in the U.S.,” lawyer Oleg Kvelstad tells People.
“This is an appeal of errors police made in the case,” Kvelstad said. If Winehouse is allowed to withdraw her acceptance of the fine, her case would likely go to trial.
In other Wino news, homegirl showed up at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt on Thursday and managed to perform a song with shooting up onstage, so good for her.
