Congrats to Nancy Grace: the 48 year old CNN news anchor became a first-time mother on Sunday with the early delivery of her twins. Nancy and husband David Linch welcomed 2lb, 15 oz Lucy Elizabeth and 5lb, 1oz John David a couple months early: the twins were expected to be born in January, but Nancy developed a pulmonary edema, forcing the early birth.
Despite the low birth weights, Nancy’s husband claimed mother and babies are doing fine.

Wow, Tara, thanks. I had kind of a mental block about the whole thing and went the route of saying “It was IVF, it was IVF, no one touched her. EVER” You’ve officially broken my brain with that statement. :::puke:::

Complications huh? I wonder if that has anything to do with her being the age my mother started going through menopause?
I hate it when people have kids this late in life.

I hate it when people think they know better. What is it to you if someone has kids late in life? It’s THEIR life, not yours. In fact, more women are having babies after 35 now and its not a bad thing. Many of these women have (or had, until the babies came) careers and/or are highly educated. If a woman can have babies at 47 or 48, hats off to her.
Also, there are major risks to pregnancy at any age. My Aunt had a pulmonary embolism at age 20 after giving birth…
