Florida police finally got around to arresting reality TV a-hole Nick Hogan in connection with his August car crash. He was charged with reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, as his passenger, John Graziano, received serious brain injuries in the accident, and to this day remains comatose.
Clearwater police also cited Nick (real last name: Bollea) for use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony, a person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher and having an illegal window tint. In addition to being legally drunk, police concluded Nick was racing a second car before he lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a palm tree.
The Hogan family released an odd statementshortly after Nick’s arrest, and pointed out that Nick’s passenger was not wearing a seatbelt during the time of the crash.
“Nick and the entire Hogan Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007.
Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena a court of law. The family’s primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick’s longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can.
The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his.
Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt. There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident.
We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John’s recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers.”

Wow, that’s kind of inappropriate. The only reason he doesn’t have a criminal record is because they keep letting him off, because he’s a “Hogan.”

Completely fucking obnoxious. Perhaps the DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE should have insisted that HIS PASSENGER wear a seatbelt. Talk about kicking a kid while he’s down…in a coma.

That statement from the family is just…. Ugh. How about trying this approach Hogan:
“Yes, I realize that my children are both worthless pieces of pond scum. I blame not only myself, but my loony-bird wife who did most of their raising while I was on the road performing my 3 moves in the wrestling ring each night. We are extremely saddened that John has had his quality of life diminished to the point that he will probably never regain any real consciousness again and we vow to cover any and all medical expenses related to his care for the remainder of his life.
Nick being charged as an adult in this incident is very fitting as my douchebag son was not only racing recklessly, we now know that he had been drinking as well. It is my sincere hope that Nick get a strong sentence so that the prison system can finally teach him there are consequences for his actions… something that his Mother and I failed to do.”
And that should be that.

It’s about time. That statement was complete crap and didn’t even address the fact that he is underage and shouldn’t even be drinking, let alone driving.
All of this crap just solidifies the creepy vibe I would get when watching that show. They all but kept Brooke locked up in a tower wearing a chastity belt before she turned 18, but Terry always let Nick get away with everything.
On one episode of the season they are showing now he even gets a father of the year award.

Yup, you’re right Christa: John was a US Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq. According to court documents, he will require lifelong care and most likely spend the remainder of his life in a nursing home.
