Blah, Blah, Blah: Brad & Angie Buy an Island
Posted by: Alyk in Angelina Jolie, Brad PittBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly purchased a man-made island off the coast of Dubai in the shape of Ethiopia. The luxury developments are priced from $6 million to $36 million.
The Hollywood couple intend to use the reclaimed piece of land to showcase environmental issues and encourage people to live a greener life, the Emirates Today newspaper said.
The couple’s purchase is part of cluster of 300 islands, shaped like a world map, that is gradually surfacing in waters off the booming Gulf emirate.
Representatives of the pair in the US and other reliable sources had confirmed the purchase had gone ahead. But state-owned Nakheel, the firm behind the development called “The World”, declined to comment, the paper said.
Ethiopia has special meaning for Brad & Angie: it’s where their oldest daughter, 2 year old Zahara, was born.

that development is the stupidest fucking thing i’ve ever heard. and as far as “promoting a greener lifestyle”, do those two dillettentes even realize that those islands were developmed using the obscene oil profits that oil-rich gulf states like the UAE are awash in, especially now with oil being 100 a barrell? real smart, real green, give a country based on oil profits 30 million dollars for a fucking island that’s going to get blown up when our stupid president decides to invade iran and the straits get bloacked. dimwits.

Hey we talked about those man made islands in my Environmental Geology class the other day. It was in refrence to the wonders of erosion and how hard they are going to have to work to keep those things from falling into the sea.
