Britney Held for Mental Evaluation

Britney Spears is still at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in LA this morning. According to Us Weekly, the singer is being held under a “5150 hold,” meaning she’s considered a danger to herself and others. She’s listed as a “special needs” patient, which means “they have either overdosed or tried to commit suicide. So we go stay with these patients and monitor them constantly. We watch them so they don’t hurt themselves and watch the people who come visit them to make sure they don’t pass anything to them.”

Sources told TMZ that Britney’s breakdown last night did not involve drugs, but instead her mental state deteriorated to the point where she was a danger to everyone around her.

Britney’s youngest son, Jayden James, was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance as well, but was released to his father, Kevin Federline, around 4am.

Britney reportedly went “completely psycho” while being rushed to the hospital.

“They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics,” the source adds, calling it “a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy.”

(LAPD Jason Lee told City News Service that Spears appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance at the time.)

Kevin’s attorney is scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Commissioner Scott Gordon in a few hours, and is expected to ask the commissioner to strip Britney of all parental rights, at least for the time being.

Some people need to have a breakdown so they can get better. Maybe she’ll finally get the help she needs
