I hate Fred Phelps more than I can possibly describe. He was a regular fixture at any event when I lived in Lawrence, KS.
The awesome part are the little kids they have out with them holding signs that say “Fags go to hell.”

Um, this doesn’t really surprise me. They’ve done much worse. I still think it’s disgusting but at least I see the train of thought they went through to pickett his funeral.
What’s worse is that they picket (or try too, many laws regarding the topic have been passed because of these guys) the funerals of fallen american soldiers that died in Iraq. Their reasoning is that the war in Iraq is gods way of punishing America for it’s tolerance of homosexuality.

I think it’s also amusingly counter-productive of them, the only possible supporters they could get to join their anti-gay regime are the same people that are steadfast supporters of the war.
this will, I’m sure be a high security funeral. They know they won’t get near enough to picket. they do a lot of this solely for the press attention.

Pay them no mind, but educate yourself about them…they are a group of complete nutters who are itching to set up a scenario where someone will attack them so that they can sue and make a lot of money. Lately they never show up at the places that they claim they are going to be but I would love to see them try to picket a funeral outside the US.
