Star Jones’ chat show on Court TV was a fabulous failure: the newly-reworked channel canceled The Star Jones Show after half a season. Court TV, now known as TruTV, issued a statement claiming the plug was pulled by “mutual agreement” between themselves and Star.
“Due to the rebranding and programming refocus of the network, TruTV and Star Jones Reynolds have mutually agreed to cease production of The Star Jones Show,” the network said. “Star will continue as a contributing legal expert on our weekday IN SESSION trial coverage. We appreciate the work she has contributed over the last few months and look forward to the next phase of our relationship.”
Star was also fired from The View in 2006.

Muahahahaha! That’s hilarious. I’m glad her show got canceled. She’s an idiot and I can’t stand her.

Were the producers fired?
February 1st, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Not a day too soon. Just yesterday I told a friend that it would be a nightmare if I had to choose whether to have lunch with Star or Dr. Phil.
And Ashley acts as if she likes her. Nancy Grace must be thrilled.
Any idea what will fill the hour?

I’m not disappointed. Doesn’t seem to be a bad thing

You all can kiss my ass!
February 3rd, 2008 at 1:00 am
Star, I’m very sorry about your cancellation. I enjoyed your show very much. Don’t listed to these other A holes!!!!
February 4th, 2008 at 7:45 am
I am thrilled that she is over once again. How can anyone find her any bit interesting? She is just BORING! I take her as being one of those people that have a narrow view of the world even through her own experience. I always felt that she was pretentious to the tenth power and likes to kiss the asses of the more famous. Good Riddance! She is the biggest FAKE.

Thank you..what a waste of an hour..BRING BACK CATHERINE CRIER!!
and Star…now were holding nothing back! (gag)
February 4th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
OMG. I agree. They got rid of Catherine Crier for that hour of waste. I never appreciated Nancy til this past summer.
February 4th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Nancy is cool..but honestly I can only take her in small doses too…what happened to all the others on Court tv…like Michel Bryant and Diane Dimond?…they never say much when people come and go…
February 5th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Nice response Star! So very Christian of you. I guess that scripture quote on your last show was just that, “show.”
February 6th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
I was not happy with Court TV since they cancelled Catherine Crier. The lady was one of the gutsiest broads around!! Then to put salt in the wound I then see at 2PM that instead of court coverage they put this National Enquirer reject hosting her own show!! Christ! Did you not note that Barbara Walters had her axed with just a few words in the back offices? All I can say if asked, who is Star Jones, is that she is some black gossip woman who stumbles over the fact that she took the expensive easy way out of being a fat slob. So you had your fat cut out and sucked out who gives a damn?!?!
I use to turn on my TV and watch Court TV just as my fellow female corporate colleagues did back when there was decent court coverage and Catherine at the end of the court day. Hell Catherine’s final thought was always an ass kicker!! She knew how to put the politicians in their place. Especially Bush and Cheny. I guess Court TV really did coward to the threats from the White House. I know about the messages from the administration and so do others!! So any execs there who deny that Cheny had any input are full of what your present line up is. PURE CRAP!! IT HAPPENED> YOU LET THE GOOD OL BOYS SCARE YOU AND KICKED CATHERINE OFF!! YOU ARE COWARDS!!!!!! Here you had a perfect host and she was not afraid or impressed with fame, money, and power like that insult of a replacement Star Jones. If the subject or guests achievements were gained illegitimately, Catherine let them have it and in such a dignified and intelligent manner that I bet Cheny and Bush had to pull out their dictionaries.
Then in about 6 months after she left, I watched a station go straight to the toilet with such superficial shows as Star Jones’s. Why can’t this new ownership,TruTV, review the success the station was getting when it worked with the old schedule. I could care less what that woman Moon, Planet or ….. oh yes STAR Jones has to say or offer. Save it for Vegas or the E Channel lady!
Bring back Catherine Crier!!!!!! Bring back true reporting.

OOOOoooh my. Star’s little response just confirms what type of lawyer/journalist/gossip expert or what ever she is this week, that she has deep emotional problems. Star take a long long long break and make a comeback say in the year 2200?
February 6th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
I must say that I enjoyed the Star Jones Show alot better than the present programming. Why is everyone so against Star? I enjoyed watching the high profile trials on court tv; it was very educational. I must say they need to bring back the old format they had during the Stacy Peterson trial. Give us something we can benefit from, like learning more about the justice system.

I miss Star. I did not know she was off. I can imagine the haters smiling. For me I felt she was one of the only people on the air who cared about African Americans. That is probably why she is off. I think she must be shattered. Interesting to read what people are saying, the talk about her weight, her looks and her being an idiot. Her show was good and I wondered who or how she would be removed. I liked some of the others who had worked for the network.
TV is now crap. I will not be watching the station any longer there are few real people to watch. I really do miss you Star. My goodness I wish you well. I want you to be famous and wealthy. It seems that many others are against you and maybe those people at the other show will be amused. I just can’t stand how Stay, you are being treated. I am sick of seeing only blue eyed women or rich women’s children on TV. There is no real equity or equality. I am so sorry Star. You had a reasonable show and you allowed others who are not allowed much time on the air, your groups that you talked with and debated with, to be heard, and that was new and different, Be proud. I am proud of you.
February 7th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
OH PLEASE!! The color of her skin had nothing to do with her being cancelled! How many times did you actually watch her? because if you did you would not be pulling the damn race card. Her show sucked! C’mon Amy Fisher as a guest! Yes tv is crap and one more crappy show just got cancelled.
February 7th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Bring Back Catherine Crier & Vinnie Politan with The Vinnie Show. Please!!
February 8th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
I gave her a fair shot. I never once saw The View, so it was all new to me. I tolerated her just fine until one show. She had a single mother on with her 2 boys who had behavioral issues. In her 20 minute ‘counseling’ session, she told the boys they needed to take care of their mom. What? They need to be boys. She needs to take care of them.
Too many times she would ask the question, then answer. It was as if she was trying to be Dr. Phil and Oprah and didn’t have the skills for either.
I gave up after the ‘counseling’. But even the ads for her bothered me. She thinks she’s all that and a bag of chips and she’s neither.
And I had an open mind with no history of her.
February 8th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
You all are haters and jealous of Star. If you don’t like her don’t watch the show. Star is very talented and was fired unjustly from the View.
She has more talent in one finger than you guys have in your whole body. Andshe is still Rich!

I did think the show was a little boring with no audience and no call ins. What’s the point? I also always felt like her smile was forced at the end of each segment. And her neck always looked like it was stressed even when she was relaxed. I thought the piece with her dog and his assistant in the limo was a little tacky and show offy. But I wanted to give the sister a chance. I can’t say I’ll miss her show. But she is talented and smart and I am sure we will see her pop up somewhere else later. Good Luck Star! I’d watch you again.
February 11th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Oh no! Now she’ll come crying to me to take her back! Hey Reege and Kelly…can you help me out here??
February 11th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I really liked Star Jones’ show. I thought it was intelligent, fair, and somewhat educational. I’m sad to see it go. I don’t know where all of the hate for Star is coming from. To me she seemed to be a down to earth woman who could relate to every personality. Personalities ranging from a struggling single parent to a high powered attorney.
I wish the best for her. Hopefully she’ll be back on tv soon. She doesn’t seem to be the type of person to let something break her spirit.
February 11th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
I don’t know what happened to Star Jones when she had her surgical weight loss but she changed. Perhaps lack of oxygen during surgery. She is became weird and self serving. I thought maybe the old Star would be back on her new show. But she is not a skilled interviewer so a wise decision was made. Try something else Star. Public appearance is not your venue.

When they let Catherine Crier go that is when court tv started to go downhill.
Catherine always had very stimulating guests and she is an extremely intelligent women who knew what she was talking about, former judge at a very young age in Texas, has done broadcast tv on legal matters for many years. She was very politically aware and kept the audience well informed.
You would find it very difficult to find another C.C.

I watched everyday for the View and then Court TV. Sherri and Whoopi do not compare to Star. There is not much to watch now. I started Law School because of Star. She is a blessing to all people!
February 14th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
As a first time viewer of court/tru tv i came to the net work because of Star Jones . I fournd her show to be enlightening engaging and stimulating. As an african american viewer i find the comments regarding the race card to be a refusal on the part of some to confront the unconscious/ subconscious racism that still exits in america. Many of the comments seem to have nothing to do with the show but more to do with Star replacing c.c. Star keep your head up and continue being YOU- the bright intelligent sophisticated star that you are.
February 14th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
Now she can come and “work” for me!!! I can always use old talk show sisters to help me get my vapid message across to the fawning mass of morons !!
February 17th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
I was shocked The Star Jones Show was cancelled. First off, it was poorly promoted. I think the network made a big mistake. I think Star Jones is great. Why all the hatred to her? Come on people, grow up. She is a true talent and another network should be jumping on the chance to have her! E Entertainment, MSNBC! Good Luck Star! You will have another gig! The View has never been the same since you were fired! Barbara Walters and the network really made a big mistake! All the best!!!!!!!!

I was let go because my memory was not up to their par. I sincerely regret that I am not able to bring the news updates to everyone. I also met a ton of great people during my tenure. It was clear that the new programming personnel were going a different direction. I am going to try creatine which is supposed to help with memory retention and other herbs and nutritional supplements. I would forget lines quite often and I understand why this happened. Please keep me in your prayers and I hope to be back on the air really, really soon.
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:26 am
Michel… I’m sorry you are not on-air at this time. I miss your cute little face! We didn’t see enough of you clean-shaven.
I watch every day. I never noticed the memory problem. I hope you find some resolution for it soon.
I miss those news breaks. I’m not sure how I feel about the new format. (But I will be forever thrilled that Star is gone.)
Best of luck. Hope to see you soon.

I will never watch tru tv again. It used to be my favorite… I thought Star’s show was excellently produced and hosted. I refuse to watch a channel that does not reward intelligence and hard work.

I feel soory for starr for the lost of her show. But I lost respect for her during watching one of her shows with writer domminick dunne. He told the aboustle truth when he said Starr is so against O.J Simpson now after all the controversary after he wrote that god awful book about if he had of killed ron and nicole he would of done it this way etc”””’ I saw Starr just acted like he was one of the worst animals on the planets, but during the criminal trial she was kissing his but!!!!!!!!!!
She went to his house to be with the family after the criminal verdict sat and talked to his family she claimed to be closed to his daughter Arnell . This was in 1996 0r 1997 and now she denys she was ever close to them and she acts like she just hate him Domminick told her this and she denyed it. Domminick was right!!!! She is very 2 faced and I hate 2 faced people. Starr what goes around comes around.,personally I thouhgt your show was boring too you came across as thinking very highly of youself. Umble your self Starr you cry, bleed and use the bathroom just like the rest of us common folks!!!!!!!.
March 7th, 2008 at 12:04 am
First of all, there is a God. LOL But seriously, Star Jones is so obnoxious and …. untalented. I mean, honestly. What are her skills? I didn’t even know who she was until I started seeing her on tabloids for her “incredible” weight loss. The freak didn’t even come clean about her surgery induced thinness until she was caught. What is the deal with her? She isn’t a rold model for anyone. She is a professional kiss ass. She is like a Paris Hilton … she’ll do anything for attention. Don’t get me wrong, she may have been a decent attorney. But please … maybe she should go back to it. She tried so hard to be a cross between Tyra Banks and Oprah, that it left me wanting to vomit. I am not a mean person, I’m willing to give anyone a fair shot. But please. They fired Catherine Cryer for THAT????

Does anyone know what happened to Vinnie? I can’t find anything, anywhere.
Thanks.
March 7th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
i want to know what happened to vinnie, too! have been looking but can’t find anything either. i couldn’t believe it when i turned on the tv and saw lisa signing off for the day and saw only her name as the host.
