Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain’s teenage daughter graced the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Frances Bean Cobain posed in a photo-spread for the magazine as Evita, and characters from Grease and Beauty and the Beast.
In the accompanying interview, 15 year old Frances discussed life as a daughter of a music legend.
“These people are fascinated by me, but I haven’t done anything,” she says. “If you’re a big Nirvana fan, a big Hole fan, then I understand why you would want to get to know me, but I’m not my parents.”
Without dismissing the accomplishments of her folks (her father was dead before she was 2), Cobain advises, “People need to wait until I’ve done something valid with my life.”
When asked if she planned to follow in her mother and father’s footsteps and go into music, Frances said she thought about photography and/or journalism, and might do a summer internship at Rolling Stone.

It’s unfortunate that like Rumer Willis she inherited a man jaw. Although maybe man jaw isn’t the right description since she got it from her mom. I don’t know why I’m being so critical - I think I’m annoyed by the ‘there’s no reason to be fascinated by me’ comments next to the fashion pics. You can’t act all surprised and ‘who me?’ about the attention and exploit it at the same time lame-o.

RubberSoul- Courtney did NOT raise her. FBC’s grandparents did. But given what those grandparents produced, I’d withhold praise until 10yrs have passed.

I love the fact that she is smart enough to realize that she has to do something to deserve the spotlight and not just rest on the fact the she is the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love…it shows that she is a very level headed person …..she’ll go far in her life if she keeps this mindset up …

Wow, i am a die hard Nirvana fan, and yet i am only 16, ever since i started listening to nirvana all i could think about is why he would leave you behind with Coutney Love, you are beautiful and you are very level headed! You really do have your fathers eyes! but i think you should at least take pride in the fact that your father was one of the greatest singers ever!!

It’s funny, but because she has no ego, and doesn’t want to be like every other celebrity kid and bring out an album just because she can, she’s got such a good reception!!
She is so beautiful!!! I read before that because of the media she’s weight-conscious, she doesn’t need to be at all! She has the perfect figure!

Frances seems to be mature until now. I am one of those who love her for who her dad was, as it is Frances, u r a prolongation of Kurt in my eyes! I did not like Courtney at all but lately i have realised Frances adores her and yeah so did Kurt… Courtney says she has given up on drugs and has been clean for about a year or so just to be there for Frances. I wish them the best. Kurt would had been very proud of his missy.
