2008 kind of sucks for Lily Allen: lingerie company Agent Provocateur reportedly ditched plans to have the singer star in an ad campaign. This bit of news comes on the heels of a Lily’s miscarriage, subsequent break up with her baby-daddy, and the failure of her BBC3 chat show.
Lily was ditched in a row between the firm’s bosses Joe Corré, 40, and Serena Rees, 39, who are divorcing.
Serena picked Lily but creative boss Joe, son of designer Vivienne Westwood, vetoed the move.
The source said: “Serena loves Lily and thinks she’s young and sassy. But Joe wasn’t keen and canned all the pictures.”Agent Provocateur said the photos may still be used in a magazine editorial, adding: “We haven’t made any decisions.”
But a pal said: “Lily was told she’d be the face of a new campaign. This feels like a big demotion.”
Friends said Lily worked out for months in the gym to be in the physical condition to replace Kate Moss as the face and body for the company. Oh well.
