Ashlee Simpson has a new disc to promote, but she isn’t welcomed to pimp it out on Saturday Night Live. Homegirl flubbed her last appearance in 2004 by running off-stage live on air after her lip-synching track played the wrong song.
An insider said her father, Joe Simpson, “wanted her to go on ‘SNL,’ and they said no.” Word is Ashlee was “a pain” during her time at “SNL” and the producers have notoriously long memories. A rep for Ashlee said, “We’re not doing ‘SNL’ because they’re dark the week we are here in April and there were no other opportunities later in the year.”
I seriously think there’s something wrong with Papa Joe. Like, something wrong in the psychiatric sense.

as the ashlee expert here, ashlee was on snl after the lip synching incident promoting her second disc and she did fine.

I wouldnt let her back on the show either.
